CuteType Overview

CuteType revolutionizes the way of typing and using keyboard with the unique features of Search & Quick Launch, Intelligent Typing Assistant and Secure On-Screen Keyboard. English Word list is included in the download. For the other languages, you can plug-in a customized word list in any language.

Locate CuteType in the system tray. Right click CuteType Icon to bring up the menu to select different features. You can use use hot keys too: Press Ctrl + Space Bar to show/hide Search & Quick Launch window; Press Ctrl + M key to enable/disable Intelligent Typing; press Ctrl + O key to show/hide On-Screen Keyboard. Configurations menu allows you to customize hot keys, fine tune what applications are allowed to learn your key typing patterns, or set up the personalized word list file.

License CuteType

CuteType is a shareware. You are granted 15-day free trial and 60-day grace period with full features. You can purchase a copy at $29.95 in any time. Once you purchase we will instantly email you your license key and you can type in or copy/paste your license key by right clicking CuteType icon in your computer desktop's system tray and choose "Purchase License ..." menu.

CuteType Registration Window Type in or copy/paste your license key in the edit box, then click "Register" button. If the license key is correct, the registration window disappears. Otherwise the "Incorrect License Key" message is displayed in the edit box.

Quick Search & Launch

CuteType is a natural keyboard launchpad and provides a very intuitive way of accessing all types of files, launching programs and searching information on web with Google, Yahoo and MSN. You can also use CuteType to get to your bookmarks faster with support for both IE and Mozilla/Firefox browsers. Just type a few letters of what you are looking for and CuteType searches and launches it. No more hassle to keep moving and clicking mouse to launch program or find files.

When CuteType starts, it indexes the frequently used the directories and files, and IE and Mozilla/Firefox bookmarks. You may notice that the CPU usage heavily increases, then decreases to amost zero. The indexing runs in a separate thread, so it doesn't affect you to use.

Find & Launch Programs. Move mouse or use arrow key to select, then click left mouse button or hit "Enter" key to open (or execute) the selected file or search on your favarite search engine.

You can search and launch your bookmarks. You can type in queries and click or select "Google Search", "Yahoo Search" or "MSN Search" to do web search. You can look for music files by entering "mp3", or pictures by entering "jpg". You can even type in a URL starting with "http://" to go to a web site.

Search & Select Bookmarks CuteType indexes IE and Mozilla/Firefox bookmarks, so you can access your bookmarks by just typing a few letters.

Intelligent Typing

CuteType is an intelligent and easy-to-use typing system and makes data entry fast, efficient and simpler for anyone who types. It offers autocompletion and predictive text entry, and enables everyone to recall spelling and to increase typing accuracy and speed. It works with any windows application that needs to enter text. It is always on your fingertips. What is more, you can customize CuteType with the word lists that you use every day, or you can configure CuteType to automatically learn your typing patterns.

Autocompletion When Typing in Notepad or Any Other Windows Programs. Press Shift + Space Bar to fast select the first candidate in the list; Or Press Shift + Up/Down arrow key to scroll up or down in the list (there are around 25 candidates in the list), then hit "Enter" key to select, or hit "Delete" key to delete an item for ever; Or Press Ctrl + Number Key to quick select a candidate.

CuteType allows you to customize your own word list. A programmer can save all the library APIs in a text file, then plug into CuteType. Different persons can specify their own frequently used word list. CuteType also has the ability to learn different word lists for different applications and you can configure this by selecting Configurations menu. The following example shows that a programmer imports all Windows APIs into CuteType and has improved productivities by multiple times using Microsoft IDE. Things can be improved more if you allow CuteType to learn when you coding. For example, it can autocomplete the variable names or function names you defined before.

Autocompletion with a Customized Word List such as Windowns APIs When Coding In Microsoft IDE A file "win32apis.txt" with all windows APIs is included with this release. Feel free to import it if you are a windows programmer.

Secure On-Screen Keyboard

CuteType also has an on-screen keyboard that prevents any keylogger program recording your typings. With this on-screen keyboard, you can enter sensitive data by clicking on keys that are displayed on a virtual keyboard. CuteType directly passes your input to the application you are working on, and doesn't remember any information.

Most of the other on-screen keyboards can not prevent the keylogger programs to record because they pass your keystrokes back to the keyboard message queue that can be seen inside any keyboard hooks. CuteType's on-screen keyboard deploys direct channels to communicate with other applications, so no keyloggers can listen to us. Please let us know if you discover any keylogger that defeats us.

Configurations

You can use Configurations to change CuteType's default hot keys, to fine tune what applications are allowed to learn your key typing patterns, to import your personalized word list file, to control whether you want CuteType to auto start.

Hot Keys provide a convenient way to access CuteType functions. Default Hot Keys: Ctrl + Space Bar to show/hide Quick Search & Launch window; Ctrl + M key to enable/disable Intelligent Typing; Ctrl + O key to show/hide On-Screen Keyboard. You can change hot keys to other key combinations in case the default hot keys conflict with other programs. Fine Tune Learning Capabilities By default, CuteType doesn't learn any key strokes sequences. It only uses the internal word list and the customized word list to suggest and adjust suggestions' order when you typing. In order to improve the intelligence of CuteType, you can allow some Windows applications to learn by checking the program. For example, you want want programming tools to learn when you code, or want Word Processing software to accumuate your typing patterns when editing, or let your task specific applications to evolve as you use more. It is important to know that when you disable a program you previously enable to learn, then click "OK" button, CuteType permanently discards all the previously learned knowledges. Import your personalized word list Specify the file with your personalized word list. One word or phrase per line. Spaces and non-letters are allowed, but CuteType can only suggest based on the letters. Upper cases can match with lower cases, but not the other way around.
